Flying the Flag
There’s nothing standard about an evening in The Standard. Even the bogs aren’t standard: one wall’s fully windowed and disco music blasts from the ceiling. So it makes sense there’s no such thing as a standard wedding in The Standard. If anything, knotting the nuptials reaches a dizzyingly high new standard. Penthouse level. Wine, dine, wed and off to bed all under the same glorious non standard roof.

I remember when this was building was Camden Council offices. Not so trendy then.
Goodness it must have been quite a different place to visit then. The penthouse level was added which helps the architecture.
Very cool

Me again. I know like I sound like I’ve been to every place you mention but actually I did fine in the hotel restaurant Decimo with my husband and it was really great. Sheila
Good evening Sheila we are glad you are enjoying LVB and how funny that you have visited two places in a row we have mentioned. Somehow we always seem to end up in the penthouse of The Standard but hopefully will dine downstairs very soon. Keep reading!
Ps is that you doing a handstand outside?!!
Very funny.
I really like the variety of posts you do. I’m a big architecture fan but I do enjoy a laugh too.
Oh good. We are the Hello! magazine of architecture.
I’m not so sure about the interiors The Standard do but looks like a good evening with lots of cake!
It is very mid 20th century but a great hotel nonetheless.
Brightened my tube ride home 🥂
Went to Decima last week. Fabulous food. Great to see the photos of the hotel. It would have been fabulous to stay over.
The Standard is fabulous and has the most glamorous MD in town. Except for our friend Astrid of course!
